This beautiful orchid blooms several times per year.
Natural habitat and growing conditions:
Dendrobium orchids are epiphytes (growing on trees, but not as a parasite) or lithophytes (growing on rocks) native to South, East and Southeast Asia, Australia and surrounding islands. There are over 1000 species in the genus, and many thousands of hybrids have been created. This particular unknown hybrid likes bright light, warm conditions, and moderate water.
Notes of interest:
- Dendrobium flowers are often used to make leis in Hawaii.
- This Dendrobium Hybrid plant forms a dense colony of pseudobulbs (swollen stems) which store water during dry periods.
